In the 5 years since Gorilla opened its doors, the only competition we ever entered was the Yogisip Keeps You Moving competition. We had no clients at the time, so the idea of sending the Natal Sharkettes careening down a slip and slide covered in Yogisip seemed like a great way to spend a work day. In the end we won Most Viewed video of the competition, and the framed certificate proving it held pride of place in our office ever since.

Time has marched on, and work days spent dreaming of building brand love, turned to days of actually doing it. Happy fans of our brand’s communities and clients who dig us and our work are truly reward enough for the hard work we put in. But part of being an agency is showcasing the work that we do to the industry, and this year saw us entering the Bookmark Awards, and the Lavello New Generation Social Media and Digital Marketing Awards.

Getting shortlisted at Bookmarks is an achievement in itself, and we were thrilled to have 5 of our entries through to the finals.

Special Honours Award – Best Digital Brand/Company – Unilever/Stork

Smart shoes polished and wearing our good hair gel, it was smiles all around at the awards ceremony in Cape Town, as we picked up a Bronze Pixel for the ILoveBakingSA mobile site, and a Silver Pixel for the ILoveBakingSA Social Media Properties. It wasn’t an official award, but we also won a Grand Prix UberPixel for the hangover we achieved the morning after.

Out of the Mother City and off to the City of Gold, we were shortlisted for a decent haul at the Lavello New Generation Social Media and Digital Marketing Awards too.

New Generation Overall Agency Award

Again dressed in the jungles finest, we were incredibly fortunate and grateful to be recognised by an esteemed panel of judges, and left the night with spoils a plenty. The cherry on the top?
